System Requirements
FirmPOS was designed to run great on Windows 7. For best results, make sure that you have all service packs and updates installed.
This is what we recommend to run FirmPOS:
Processor
Intel or AMD 1Ghz processor minimum
Memory
1GB or better is recommended due to the higher memory requirements made by Windows 7.
Windows Version
Microsoft Windows XP Pro
Microsoft Windows Vista Business
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
If you want to use Windows 7 64bit, be sure to get the Professional version.
Video Display
Video display of 1024×768 (or better) running 16bit colors
Network Interface
A network is not required to use FirmPOS. However, Windows peer networks are supported.
We do not recommend that you use Windows Server 2003+ for hosting the data file. The best way to maximize FirmPOS performance over a network is by running one of the supported operating systems on a fast workstation.
- 100/1000 Network Interface Card running TCP/IP (if networked)
- Broadband Internet connection required (for support and updates)
Receipt Printer and Cash Drawer
We support the Star TSP600 and APG Series 100 cash drawer with Star printer interface cable
Barcode Scanner
A Laser or CCD Barcode scanner with keyboard wedge interface (we officially support one scanner, the Metrologic Voyager)
Fingerprint Check-In
Biometric Fingerprint Check-In using the optional eMetric Gateway module
Tanning Bed Support
We recommend a T-Max Manager Pro
