Version 4.36 Build 122b

We recently found a dependency issue affecting version 4.36.120b to 4.36.122a.  Depending on the customer's version of Windows, this can cause FirmPOS modules to stop working entirely.

If your version of FirmPOS is less than 4.36.122b then please contact support for the Version Certificate and download to the latest build from our website.

Wow...   there has been a lot going on around here during the last couple months :-)  Release 4.36.122 includes many, many new features and updates. Like what..? Well....

Receipt Template Designer
Create your own receipts using our visual designer. You can now assign different receipt styles to sales, membership dues payments, package payments and global payments. Colors, text, images, placement...  you designed it.

Pro Reports Update
We revamped Pro Reports with an improved interface and huge feature set changes that will make writing reports much easier (I know... I just wrote 60 new reports with it :-)

• Brand new query builder. This thing rocks. Now built into the main workspace instead of a separate window that gets launched.
• The Code Editor is also now in the main workspace instead of a separate window. Allows you to save your work as you type.
• Dialog builder allows you to create frequently used dialog types from stored templates. Create it once and use it again :-)
• New parm builder allows you to easily write dynamic parameters into the SQL statement and create VBscript on the fly. This is a real time saver!
• New "My Label" feature

Reporting Workspace Update
Brand new design includes "Workspaces" where you can drag frequently used reports. This saves a bunch of time when running multiple reports. (no more searching through menus to find the next report)  Updated exporting engine lets you export reports in various formats (pdf, rtf, xls, plain text). New Tread Reports allow you to see check-in statistics. Such as... what hours/days/months are most popular. These "trend" reports are invaluable. We also include over 60 new reports!

8/1/2005  --  Error Alert

Error 429
If you have recently installed Microsoft updates and are now getting a 429 error, re-install FirmPOS. We are looking into which update is actually causing this and will have more info shortly.

Error 457
If you get error 457 after installing the latest build, the trigger collection is not getting initialized correctly.

Download this fix - Unzip the file and run the "TriggerFix.exe" file to recreate the trigger collection.

Equipment Tracker update: Added variable rate pricing rules to each Object Type. This allows you to charge different amounts on certain days, specific dates and time ranges.

For example:

• Charge $6.50 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 8am and noon
• Charge $3.50 on 12/25/2005 all day OR Charge $3.50 on 12/25/2005 between the hours of 1pm and 5pm

This build has several new features and updates. New features include:

Waiver Module  - The Waiver Client allows you to collect signed waivers from your members using a HHP 1500 series signature device. Digital Filing Update - This update creates sub-folders based on each member account in the Digital Filing folder and moves the stored documents. It is much easier to locate raw documents using Windows Explorer.

rRad Updates - Various rRad updates and fixes. Documentation is just about completed... we hope to have the release before August 1st, 2005.

FirmPOS Beta with rRad

This is the long awaited User Defined Fields upgrade. rRad (stands for: Really Rapid Application Development) is a super charged end user development tool that allows you to create your own workspaces in FirmPOS. Most any type of data collection is now possible. Think of it....  you want FirmPOS to show specific demographic info on a member account... rRad enables you to do it. Create several custom windows for demographics... rRad allows you to place buttons on your forms that open other Workspaces! You design your workflow now. Stay tuned... we will be updating the site in the next couple weeks as we get closer to this release.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have discontinued support for all BioCert Biometric products in this build. FirmPOS now exclusively supports our eMetric Gateway for biometrics.

The BioCert Enterprise Version and the eMetric Gateway both use the Secugen SecuSearch License. We believe this license will work seamlessly with the eMetric Gateway. Because the license was sold by Biometrics Direct and ultimately belongs to Secugen, we will not guarantee any license not sold by eSynaptic. 

All users with BioCert Pro versions will need to purchase the eMetric Upgrade License to continue using biometric check-in. This Biometric Direct license is incompatible with the eMetric Gateway. Please contact us for more information.
